The Tree, the Bees, and the Grandchildren

Every autumn, our backyard tree bursts into a vibrant yellow bloom. Within days, the blossoms fall, creating a golden carpet across the lawn. But it's not just the petals that descend—the bees come too. Thousands gather on the tree and among the fallen flowers, filling the air with a gentle, unified hum. It's a harmonious chorus of diligent workers, singing together in their shared labor. Each year, almost like a seasonal ritual, a different grandchild gets stung by a weary bee resting quietly on the grass. The challenge in this painting was to blend the yellow background with the yellow bee. An interesting challenge and I'm happy I succeeded.
